Start Your Summer with SpeedPro

June 21, 2022

For most people, summer means vacations, family gatherings, sporting events, and outdoor adventures. But for determined entrepreneurs, summer is also a fantastic time for new business planning!

If you’re interested in opening a B2B franchise, consider SpeedPro, a light manufacturing, large-format printing business. Getting started with SpeedPro during the summer months is a great way to position your small business for success. Here’s why.

Why start a business in summer?

The summer season tends to be slower when it comes to new business startups. There are a number of potential reasons for this.

First, people get busy during the summer months and put business planning on the back burner. Between vacations, kids being out of school, and social events, many entrepreneurs decide they’re simply too busy to get started and push their planning to the fall. Second, many entrepreneurs intend to time their business opening for the new year or the end of the year. This means a lot of people ramp up during the fall and winter seasons.

However, there’s no one “right” season for your business’s launch! Summer is a fantastic choice and may actually give you some advantages in the market. For example, by starting your SpeedPro franchise this summer, you will be up and running in just a few short months,  partner with businesses in your community, and generate revenue sooner than your wait-til-later counterparts. And, let’s be honest, the fall leads swiftly into the holiday season, the busiest time of year for most people.

Remember, there’s no perfect time to start a business. The startup tasks, onboarding, and responsibilities are the same no matter the season. So, why wait to begin your entrepreneurial journey? Waiting until “later” might just become “never” if you delay.

Summertime is a great time to pursue business ownership, and be up and running quickly!

The path to SpeedPro ownership

Another important thing to consider is the timeline to opening for your chosen franchise system. With SpeedPro, it takes a few months for franchisees to work through the discovery process, sign the franchise agreement, buildout their Studios, and open their doors. Beginning this process in the summer allows you to get up and running that much sooner.

Take a look at the timeline breakdown, from discovery to opening.

  • Discovery process: SpeedPro’s 8-step discovery process helps you learn about our business and determine whether it’s the right fit for you. It ends with you signing a franchise agreement and beginning your franchise journey. This entire process can last between 60 and 90 days.
  • Training: After completing the discovery process, all new Studio owners partake in a two-week training session at the SpeedPro home office in Denver, Colorado. During this time, you’ll learn everything you need to know about operating a SpeedPro Studio.
  • Studio buildout: After selecting your Studio’s location, there will be a buildout period to ensure the property meets the needs of your business. Although this process varies, most buildouts take 30 to 60 days. During this time, you’ll work with a nearby Buddy Studio to build client relationships and generate revenue—even before your doors open!

After these few months, your Studio will be complete and you’ll be ready to host your grand opening!

Begin your journey today

SpeedPro’s streamlined startup process makes it easy to launch your Studio with support in just a few months. Starting in the summer allows you to get up and running before the end of the year. You’ll enjoy solid business footing as you enter the new year, with a full calendar year for budgeting and tracking sales. Opening before the start of the new year also allows you to take advantage of local business’s fresh marketing budgets. When these organizations need large-format printing for their new-year strategies, your established Studio will be prepared to help!

Our rapidly expanding franchise system is looking for determined, relationship-driven entrepreneurs to join our team. If you’re interested in launching your own business in the large-format printing industry, request information about SpeedPro and begin the discovery process this summer.

SpeedPro franchisees create large-format graphics for every type of marketing purpose!

Printing technologies

The printing industry is constantly changing. Manufacturers continue to refine their printing technologies through more advanced printers, new inks, and more efficient applications. Because we understand technology is evolving every year, we prioritize research and make changes as necessary. SpeedPro representatives attend industry tradeshows and seminars to learn about the latest and greatest tech and constantly evaluate how our current printers are meeting customers’ needs. Over the years, we’ve adopted more eco-friendly inks like UV-curable products, more efficient printers, and other technologies to make our products as high-quality as possible.

Thanks to this research, we’ve taken the guesswork out of choosing printers and inks. Our franchisees know they’re using the very best the industry has to offer. When an owner joins SpeedPro, they purchase our startup package that includes our chosen printers and inks, saving them time and effort on the research process.

The relationships SpeedPro maintains within our amazing vendor network gives franchisees access to the most talented global companies in the print space. When SpeedPro franchisees buy equipment and products, they know they can trust what’s being recommended to them.

New substrates

We not only stay on top of new printing technologies but also materials. While printers were once limited to plastics like PVC and paper, technological advancement has made it possible to print on almost any type of surface. Naturally, SpeedPro is fully committed to staying current and even forward-thinking with our offering, investing in the latest printers capable of applying inks to various substrates.

SpeedPro’s product line now proudly includes materials like glass, wood and textiles. These innovations have given our customers more options for their print projects and have expanded our capabilities as a creative solution partner. They’ve also made our products more sustainable, with a greater selection of recyclable and biodegradable substrates.

Advanced processes

SpeedPro’s innovation doesn’t stop at printers and materials. We also pay close attention to the processes we use for product installation, as well as behind-the-scenes processes for training, sales, and accounting.

Studio owners get access to the latest iteration of our proprietary workflow and CRM software, making it easier to manage business operations. As technology advances, we update our programs to continue making things easier and faster for franchisees.

All of these efforts not only simplify the operations process—they also keep overhead low for the franchisee. The end result is an efficient, well-run company that provides owners with the support they need on all sides.

Innovation is in our history and our future

SpeedPro has always kept innovation at the forefront, even during our early days as a sign-making business. Staying on the leading edge has helped us become—and remain—the nation’s leading wide-format printing and graphics franchise opportunity.

At the end of the day, we’re not afraid to adapt. In fact, we welcome adaptation as means of continual evaluation and improvement. Our end goal is to provide our customers with the highest-quality large-format print products they can find on the market, along with top-notch service. This means we have to stay up to date on the latest technologies and adapt with them. Office Buildings Need Large Format Printing

May 19, 2022

SpeedPro’s wide-format printing franchise owners enjoys a plethora of client verticals. We work with organizations large and small, from construction companies to nonprofits to local event hosts. However, one of the biggest market segments we serve is the commercial office industry.

Tapping into the office market in your region is one of the most lucrative moves you can make for your SpeedPro Studio. Office buildings offer a world of opportunity—and the future is looking bright thanks to a few trends! Here are a few reasons why SpeedPro’s product line is a perfect match for local office properties.

Identify the Organization

Office buildings—especially those with multiple tenants—rely on large-format signage to identify themselves. Companies might use banners, three-dimensional signs and window graphics to proudly display who occupies their space. Inside, standard, and digital signage helps to delineate between offices and support each company’s branding.

Because many office buildings look the same from the outside, these types of signage are key to helping employees and visitors get to the right place. They also assist in wayfinding by directing visitors to the correct office location.

Choosing high-quality signs from an experienced printer like SpeedPro also helps these organizations make a great first impression. Using quality signage, they’re able to demonstrate how much they care for and take pride in their office environment. This translates to greater trust from customers.

Give Buildings Personality

Large-format signage does so much more than merely identify a specific company, though. Organizations often invest in new and interesting types of signage in order to support their branding efforts and give their building a unique identity.

For example, branded architectural finishes or contour cut signage may serve as a statement piece for an office building’s lobby. Custom wallpapers and murals can support corporate branding, leaving visitors with a sight worth remembering.

Bright and colorful wallpaper really makes this space inviting and fun!

Each large-format print product an office client chooses should be purposeful and interesting. This way, they’re able to reinforce their brand identity and set their building apart from others in the area. SpeedPro’s advanced printing technology lets us print on almost any material, giving our clients an expansive pool of unique products to choose from.

Enhance Office Culture

The signage an office client uses not only affects its customers but also its employees. After all, they are the people working in the office every day! It’s important that employees enjoy being in their work space and feel comfortable within its four walls.

These days, brands are looking for new ways to entice workers back into the office after the COVID-19 pandemic. Large-format products like wall murals and interesting signs can transform the look and feel of these spaces. Signage featuring scenic murals, mission statements, and inspirational quotes can motivate employees, remind them of the organization’s vision, and boost company morale. These products also make the work environment more inviting, rather than the standard white or gray walls. When offices are more engaging, employees are more engaged in their work!

SpeedPro often helps commercial office clients execute their marketing strategies through large-format print products, but our assistance hits close to home, as well. By livening up the office environment with unique signs, wall graphics and branded finishes, we help corporate tenants stand out in the marketplace and keep their employees happy. Because of this combination of services, SpeedPro acts as a one-stop shop partner for many organizations’ branding and marketing efforts.

There are always new companies looking to build and expand their local presence. This is just one of the reasons SpeedPro Studios thrive in their regional markets. The pool of brands in need of large-format printing is there and ready to be tapped!

5 Ways to Market Your SpeedPro Franchise

May 3, 2022

A large portion of SpeedPro’s business comes from clients looking for unique ways to enhance their marketing and advertising efforts through high-quality, wide-format signage. But in order to help those clients, SpeedPro Studio Owners need to do some marketing and advertising themselves!

A robust marketing strategy is critical to each one of our Studio’s success. Paired with our corporate marketing support platform, your local efforts will draw in new customers and help make SpeedPro an industry leader. New franchisees and established SpeedPro franchisees market their Studios in these and other ways.

1. The Local Chamber of Commerce

SpeedPro is a B2B business, meaning we only cater to the needs of other businesses and organizations. There are few better ways to meet and network with the businesses in your area than to join your local chamber of commerce.

Chamber of Commerce organizations offer national, state-wide, and regional business membership, typically for a fee. In exchange, these Chambers provide plenty of opportunities for networking and advertising. They often host regular events where you can meet other entrepreneurs, sell your services, and trade advice on business ownership. One contact you meet at your Chamber of Commerce could turn into a stream of referral business!

2. Network with Small-format Printers and Ad Agencies

Aside from working with organizations’ marketing departments directly, SpeedPro franchise Owners also serve ad agencies and small-format printers with white label print products. We’re not a competitor to these companies; instead, we help expand their offerings!

Building meaningful connections with these types of companies can go a long way in growing a business-to-business franchise. Clients and customers of agencies and other printers often need diverse products, and our high quality and level of service make us a great repeat vendor.

You can meet many event planners, ad agencies, marketing, and design firms, and small-format printers through networking events and other business group opportunities. You can also reach out to them directly to connect and nurture the relationship from scratch.

3. Maintain a Digital Presence

Many times, B2B clients find SpeedPro Studios by doing their own research. In their search for a large-format print provider, customers usually go online, so creating and maintaining a strong digital presence ensures that your Studio will be seen and give clients the information they need.

Make sure that your Studio information is loaded into Google My Business correctly so you show up in search engine results. You’ll need your address and phone number to be accurate for clients to reach you!

Social media is also a great place to market. Photo platforms like Instagram allow you to share pictures of recently completed projects, giving your business an online portfolio for clients to browse. LinkedIn is another great platform to occupy. There, you can search for and connect with business owners in your area who might need your services.

4. Wrap Your Vehicle

One of the most common products SpeedPro offers its customers is vinyl vehicle wraps—and SpeedPro Owners can use them too! Every SpeedPro franchisee needs a Studio vehicle to operate their company, whether it’s your personal car or one you purchase specifically for the business. We encourage every Owner to wrap their company vehicle in a SpeedPro-approved wrap to cost-effectively advertise their Studio.

The wrap should have your location, services, and SpeedPro branding. This way, as you drive around town to conduct sales calls and make deliveries, people are exposed to the brand and get to see SpeedPro’s workmanship for themselves.

5. Rely on Our National Marketing Support

At SpeedPro, we don’t expect Owners to do it alone. Part of the benefit of our franchising system is that our corporate team provides high-level support for things like marketing and sales.

As an Owner, you’ll contribute to our corporate marketing fund each month. These fees go toward the overarching sales and marketing systems we offer all franchisees and the tools we use to build our brand nationally. SpeedPro will support your marketing efforts in multiple ways, such as training, a Studio-specific website, and national advertising efforts.

We’ll also help you get your footing through the franchisee Ramp-Up Program, which helps you establish a local footprint. You’ll join networking groups and become involved in the local business community as you prepare to open your doors, then enjoy a local press event to celebrate your grand opening!

There are many ways to market your SpeedPro Studio. No matter which path you choose, our franchising team will help to support you so your business has the best opportunity to grow and thrive.

SpeedPro’s Place in the Pop-Up Market

April 20, 2022

The pop-up retail trend has been gaining ground for years, and the pandemic only made it more popular among brands. A form of experiential marketing, pop-up retail is a fantastic way for brands to experiment with their businesses and attract more consumer attention.

As the pop-up shop trend grows even larger in the years to come, brands will need a trusted partner to produce the large-format print products used in their temporary locations. SpeedPro can be that partner. Check out why pop-up retail is exploding and how SpeedPro franchise owners are positioned to benefit.

Understanding the Growing Pop-Up Trend

Pop-up retail, also known as “flash retailing,” is a way for brands to set up short-term, low-budget experiences. These shops are often set up in vacant retail storefronts, empty venues in shopping malls, and even mobile trailers, warehouses, and outdoor spaces.

Pop-up shops are particularly popular among online stores, giving them an opportunity to sell to customers in person. Pop-up shops aren’t only for things like clothes, however. Brands are creating pop-up experiences for their hair or nail salons, jewelry shops, bars, eateries, training centers, and much more. The key is taking a business to a new location and setting up a temporary shop.

More and more businesses are turning to the pop-up trend because of its ability to provide great customer insights and generate buzz. Pop-ups are useful for creating excitement about a new launch, showcasing exclusivity, testing new products, and exploring new markets. This is all done in a low-cost and low-risk way.

COVID-19 made pop-ups even more common. As businesses closed mid-pandemic, they left the retail sector’s vacancy rates at an all-time high. In many cases landlords are now willing to be more flexible with their leases, giving brands the ability to rent space for a few months or as little as a few days. Additionally, digital fatigue has led to the rise of in-person shopping once again. Consumers are eager to get out and experience new things.

According to a recent study by Shopify, 32% of brands said they’d be establishing or expanding their use of pop-up and in-person experiences in the next year. This just shows the existing market for pop-up retail and how much it’s growing in the near future.

How SpeedPro Serves the Pop-Up Market

Pop-up retail is ultimately focused on delivering immersive brand experiences on a short-term basis. Brands rely heavily on foot traffic to bring curious customers through the door, then use branded materials to keep them inside. This means brands need eye-catching signage to advertise and create their pop-ups—but they also need it to be easy to install and takedown.

What this boils down to is that pop-up shops need large-format graphics that SpeedPro can provide! Our product line perfectly serves the needs of brands interested in launching their next pop-up. By working with local businesses that are taking their stores on the road, SpeedPro owners can create a package of print products that turn vacant storefronts into inviting spaces.

Advertising is critical to help pop-ups build brand awareness. Window and floor graphics are great ways to customize the space, direct customers, and advertise from the outside. Outdoor banners and flags are useful advertising materials to draw in passersby.

To maximize easy installation, pop-ups might also utilize a range of large-format materials. Retractable banners and stands, three-dimensional signs, point-of-purchase displays, kiosk design and signage, and even cardboard furniture are all great options for these brands. These types of graphics are durable and portable, allowing businesses to take them from one pop-up to the next.

SpeedPro’s hyperlocal approach also gives owners an edge in the pop-up market. When new brands come to town and are in need of large-format printing, being an established name in the market could bring you that new business.

Take Advantage of Pop-Ups in Your SpeedPro Studio

SpeedPro’s diverse product line and creative approach mean our studios are well-positioned to take advantage of the latest trends in retail and advertising. Through networking, you can make your Studio the go-to provider of large-format printing for local pop-up shops!

SpeedPro Norcross Wins IFA Franchisee of the Year

March 30, 2022

SpeedPro’s John Barber is recognized for being an outstanding owner-operator by The International Franchise Association; Exemplifying excellence as a leading Business-to-Business large format printing franchise in his community.

Larry Oberly, CEO, and John Barber, owner SpeedPro Norcross

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DENVER, March 22, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — SpeedPro, the nation’s leader in large format graphics, today is pleased to announce The International Franchise Association (IFA) named John Barber of SpeedPro in Norcross, Georgia, as Franchisee of the Year. Barber was honored at IFA’s 62nd Annual Convention in San Diego, California, for being an outstanding franchise establishment owner-operator.

“Franchisee of the Year Awards are the highest honors presented to individual franchisees,” said Matthew Haller, President and CEO of the International Franchise Association. “These local business owners like John Barber, represent some of the best entrepreneurs in the country and we are proud to recognize his contributions to their communities, their employees and all those they serve.”

The Franchisee of the Year Award, sponsored by IFA’s partner Paychex, recognizes leading franchisees who exemplify at least one of IFA’s “Open for Opportunity” core pillars: Community, Workforce, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Veterans. SpeedPro is a 163-location franchise in the U.S. and Canada specializing in large-format printing. SpeedPro’s primary product applications include wall, window and floor graphics, event displays, digital displays, signs and vehicle and fleet wraps. A variety of industries are served by SpeedPro including advertising and marketing companies, retail, healthcare, museums and galleries, restaurants, franchises, event venues, educational institutions and more. SpeedPro’s mission is to partner with businesses to achieve success through innovative visual solutions.

Barber joined the SpeedPro Norcross studio as a partner in June of 2015, and has been the sole owner since September 2019. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Business School, Barber has worked for large corporations including Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and a series of private equity ventures primarily in the hospitality and food service franchising industry.

“The past 2 years of the pandemic solidified Norcross’ leadership position in our marketplace as we added 642 new customers by leveraging our digital marketing strategy,” he said.

The reasons Barber received this award in the community category are many. As the pandemic started, the studio donated over 300 yard signs and banners to restaurants and retailers by driving around and giving them away for free. The businesses used the signs to message and communicate to people where they could still obtain meals.

Barber also partnered with 4 other companies during Easter weekend to feed 26,000 meals to displaced food service workers in greater Atlanta. The program was named “Feeding Food Service.” Barber has supported the hospitality and franchise industry after the great learnings he had in his early years in food service.

Creating art files used by the entire SpeedPro system, Barber’s studio donated over 200 8-foot Heroes Work Here signs and installed them at hospitals, police and fire stations, city halls, public works and regional medical facilities. Additionally, the studio donated the signs to the first COVID drive-thru locations at the Peachtree Immediate Care Medical facilities in Atlanta, and has been supplying all 30 plus locations with graphics since.

Additionally, the studio printed signs for all 16 cities in Gwinnett County, which was contacted by the Gwinnett Municipal Cities Association once they heard of the program. The 128 signs the studio printed and installed was at a 50% discount with Barber donating 10% of the revenue to the North Georgia Community Foundation to support families impacted by COVID.https://c255cfb4a4730682068c22489004aa88.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

“My experience as a franchisor and now as a SpeedPro franchisee has been a highlight of my professional career,” shared Barber. “2022 is shaping up to be another record year for our Norcross studio and hopefully the SpeedPro system as a whole.”

A recent IFA study showed that franchising helped lead U.S. economic recovery in 2021, with exceptional job and business growth across all franchising sectors. The industry on average provides higher wages, better benefits and more leave than non-franchised businesses, as well as greater opportunities to underserved communities and aspiring entrepreneurs, according to Oxford Economics research.

How SpeedPro is Sustainable

March 22, 2022

Today’s customers demand sustainability. With conscious consumerism on the rise, businesses are looking for ways to infuse sustainability into their everyday operations. Eco-friendly marketing is one important—but often overlooked—piece of an organization’s sustainability efforts.

Fortunately for our business partners, SpeedPro has embraced sustainability in multiple ways! By making our large-format printing products and operations greener, we’re helping reduce not only our own but also our clients’ impacts on the earth’s materials and resources. This gives our franchise studios a leg up over the competition and a greater sense of pride as they do their work.

What sustainability means to us

In corporate operations, “sustainability” is often linked to reduced carbon emissions and pollution levels. While these are certainly important, we think of sustainability in a broader sense.

SpeedPro’s sustainable efforts encompass the health and wellbeing of the planet, air quality and human beings. The ways we make our business “green” are safer and healthier for our employees, produce less waste and are better for the environment! These efforts speak to our clients’ desire for eco-friendly production.

Why is sustainability important? First and foremost, it helps solidify a healthy future for new generations. By protecting the planet today, we give our children and their children a healthier environment.

SpeedPro’s sustainability efforts also help attract clients. Customers are prioritizing businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability. SpeedPro’s B2B clients will come to us because of our range of sustainable product options, then use their green marketing to draw in customers of their own.

How SpeedPro chooses sustainability

SpeedPro’s everyday operations and product line support our commitment to sustainability. And the best part is, what we offer is always growing! As the industry evolves, we continue to present eco-conscious clients with products that are less impactful on the environment—without losing any of their professional quality or impactful messaging! Here are just a few ways we do it.

New ink types

Inks used in large-format printing have been some of the most pollutive over the years. Traditional inks contain solvents, which emit chemicals during the printing process. Fortunately, newer, more sustainable inks have become more common—and are even produced and endorsed by some of the largest names in the industry!

For example, UV-curable inks produce fewer chemical emissions than traditional inks, making them a safer and less-pollutive option. Another benefit of these inks is that they can be used to print on almost any surface. This means the sky’s the limit when it comes to sustainable materials!

SpeedPro studios also have choices for eco-solvent inks, which emit fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are less harmful to the environment. These inks also break down more easily during the recycling process, further minimizing the impact they have on the earth.

Sustainable substrates

What our projects are printed on is also extremely important. When our clients are finished using their banners, trade show displays or window graphics, they might throw them out. If our studios use greener substrates, they help minimize the amount of time it takes for those projects to decompose.

Historically, plastic materials have been among the most popular substrates in the large-format printing industry. But many plastics contain polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is non-biodegradable and takes decades to decompose on its own. Newer plastic materials like PVC-free vinyl are becoming more mainstream and have a much lower impact in terms of waste.

We have plenty of recyclable substrate options, as well. Cardboard and cardstock are versatile and can be completely recycled. Wood products like wood veneer and MDO as well as textiles are also eco-friendly and growing in popularity thanks to evolving print technology. When printers are able to print on more materials, our clients’ options get broader and more sustainable!

Some of the materials we source from suppliers like Hewlett Packard come with a bonus recycling service. HP will provide shipping labels so clients can mail their old banners and other recyclable materials to be recycled properly.

Conscious and adaptable operations

SpeedPro isn’t just sustainable thanks to the products and equipment we use. We’re sustainable because we’ve made a commitment to the movement. Our day-to-day operations are designed to lower our carbon footprint and reduce waste. By investing in the latest printers and other technology, we’ve made large-format design and printing easier, faster and more efficient.

And, of course, the large-format printing industry is always changing. New technologies and business practices are making what we do more and more sustainable every day. We consistently research and invest in up-and-coming options to help lead the industry and remain on the cutting edge. One of the best parts of being part of SpeedPro’s network is that you’ll get access to new training and equipment that reflect evolving print practices. At SpeedPro, we stay on top of changes so your business can adapt and benefit!

Are you ready to launch your own large-format printing business? SpeedPro’s franchise investment offers more than just financial opportunity. Our model is built on flexibility, sustainability and collaboration for the best possible experience. Fill out our contact form to get started.

The Rise of Out-of-Home Advertising

March 8, 2022

There’s a common saying in marketing that “print isn’t dead.” Although this most often referrs to materials like direct mail, it also rings true for larger print products like window graphics and vehicle wraps. In today’s advertising landscape, digital might be growing, but large-format printing is still a win.

SpeedPro has positioned itself as a leader in the large-format printing industry and is successful for a reason. Our B2B clients understand the value of out-of-home advertising. The large, eye-catching designs customers see on the road or along the street have great ROI. Better yet, these types of advertisements are even more popular in today’s post-pandemic world. Opening a SpeedPro studio now allows our franchisees to meet the growing demand for out-of-home advertising products.

Out-of-home advertising draws eyes

Out-of-home advertising” or OOH refers to any advertisements a customer sees while they are outside of their home. This includes billboards, vehicle wraps, large posters or banners and murals in public spaces. Recent evolutions have also added digital screens and backlit graphics to the OOH mix.

What’s great about out-of-home advertising is that it’s able to be seen by a large number of people every day. Plus, it’s not dependent on precise targeting or timing like digital advertising is. If a customer isn’t on their phone much, they might not see the emails a brand sends out. But as they drive to work or run errands, they have a high chance of seeing a banner or wrapped vehicle on the road!

When done well, OOH advertising is extremely eye-catching and holds customers’ attention. They’re great for brand and event awareness but can also send targeted messages and encourage actions. Because of all these benefits, organizations in almost every industry have invested in out-of-home advertising.

Post-pandemic advertising looks different

The current marketing landscape has also given OOH advertising a boost. The pandemic changed the way customers interact with ads. For the better part of two years, people spent the majority of their time at home. This drove brands toward digital advertising, reaching customers on their phones and computers. Unfortunately, this resulted in a lot of digital “noise” and clutter that buyers quickly began to tune out.

With the world largely opened up once again, people are spending more time outside of their homes and away from digital spaces. Brands are investing more of their money and effort into out-of-home ads that buyers see in the real world. Not only are these ads reaching customers where they are, they’re also cutting through that digital noise and making buyers take notice.

SpeedPro is positioned to deliver

In order to execute a successful out-of-home advertising campaign, brands need a reliable partner in the large-format printing space. Banners, window graphics, vehicle wraps and other large, physical ads must be carefully designed, printed and installed to maintain a professional appearance and have the biggest impact on viewers. This is the exact area where SpeedPro excels!

SpeedPro’s product line is well suited to meet the heightened demand for this large OOH advertising needs like billboards, signage and more. Our studios are capable of producing a vast array of large-format products. We even have the flexibility to print on new and unique substrates, like wood, glass and eco-friendly materials, allowing us to keep pace with emerging trends.

What’s even better is that many of our products are cost-effective for both us and our clients. Vehicle wraps are one of the most cost-effective out-of-home advertising products in the industry, with an average cost of four cents per thousand impressions. Explore SpeedPro’s Diverse Verticals

February 21, 2022

All types of businesses need wide-format print products. When you think of them, a few large ones might come to mind, such as event planners. But dig a little deeper, and you’ll discover there are so many more client segments waiting to be tapped!

SpeedPro’s diverse client verticals allow our owners to tap into multiple growing segments at once. Not only does this provide ample opportunity for growth and cash flow stability, it also protects our studios from major industry changes. As a SpeedPro owner, your eggs are in multiple clients baskets that have both high potential and are repeatable!

Once your franchise opens for business, you’ll get to choose which client segments you target.

10 of SpeedPro’s target customers

While we focus exclusively on B2B clients requiring customized, wide-format print projects, the client pool is not small! Here are just 10 of the possible client verticals you might work with through your SpeedPro studio.

  1. Marketing & advertising agencies: The largest segment of customers SpeedPro works with fall under the marketing and advertising umbrella. These clients work with their own customers to connect them with the products and services needed to market their businesses. Because most of these agencies do not have their own wide-format printing equipment, they turn to us to provide banners, window graphics, trade show displays and more. This customer segment provides ample opportunity for repeat business and can help a SpeedPro studio grow significantly.
  2. Small-format printers & sign companies: SpeedPro studios also often work with small-format print and sign companies as a white-label provider of wide-format printing. These relationships are often reciprocal—each side can provide a unique set of products to the other’s customers. Because SpeedPro does not provide small-format print products, we are not competitors to these companies and actually help expand their service line.
  3. Construction: Construction companies have a variety of wide-format print needs. These companies often have a fleet of vehicles that require professional vehicle wraps. They also typically erect large, branded signs at construction sites for both safety and informative purposes.
  4. Events & convention services: Companies that provide event and convention services, like event planners, as well as organizations that routinely host events need large-format printing. Product needs for this segment often include environmental graphics like banners, flags and window graphics. These companies may also require branded indoor signage and trade show displays.
  5. Schools & universities: Educational institutions may have a variety of needs met by the large-format printing industry. Banners and displays serve events and recreational programming. Schools may improve their interior atmosphere through wall murals and other graphics. Other signage is useful for temporary programs and wayfinding on larger campuses.
  6. Real estate: Local real estate agencies use large-format print products to attract passersby to their properties. Real estate signs, pop-up banners and flags are some of the most commonly used, whether long-term or for temporary events like open houses.
  7. Food service: Restaurants and food service companies may require a wide variety of large-format signage, depending on the establishment. Wall murals and window and floor graphics are some of the most common products in this industry. Other banners and large signs may serve a purpose during events and promotional periods.
  8. Retail & consumer products: Retail companies are some of the largest users of large-format print products. Stores often use window and floor graphics to brand their businesses and showcase promotions. Retail graphics help with wayfinding and product information. Point-of-purchase displays are also common.
  9. Sports & recreation: Organizations that host popular events in the sports and recreation industry require large graphics to increase attendance. These companies often need unique banners, event graphics, flags and many more eye-catching signs for each event.
  10. Transportation: Transportation companies most often require vehicle fleet wraps to create a consistent branding experience. However, companies that operate out of an office location may need additional forms of large-format signage.

The client segments SpeedPro serves extend far beyond these 10. B2B companies across almost every industry need high-quality, professionally installed print products and signage. By forging lasting partnerships with our clients’ organizations, SpeedPro studios lock in repeat business and enjoy diverse profit areas.

4 Trends Supporting SpeedPro Growth

February 10, 2022

As a prospective SpeedPro franchisee, you want to be certain that there’s a future for your business. Assessing trends in the wide-format printing industry is critical to understanding how SpeedPro is poised to grow and evolve over time.

Fortunately, SpeedPro’s business model is both innovative and market-leading. We have our fingers on the pulse of macro industry trends that are expected to drive growth among our many product lines. Take a closer look at a few key trends we believe support SpeedPro’s bright future as an essential franchise business opportunity.

Out-of-home advertising

Today’s marketing and advertising professionals are balancing highly targeted digital ads with broad-reaching out-of-home (OOH) advertisements. Large in size and highly visible, OOH ads are seen by thousands of passersby each day. Wall murals, billboards, banners and vehicle wraps improve brand recognition and have the potential to capture new customers.

As a large-format printing franchise, SpeedPro is perfectly aligned with the growing OOH advertising trend. Rather than cater to small-format product lines like business cards and letterhead, our business provides quality, large-scale products designed to be seen by millions. With our name established in the industry, we’re ready to capture more customers as they increasingly turn to OOH advertising.

Smaller print runs

Wide-format print customers – generally businesses like marketing firms, advertising agencies, universities, corporations and such – are less likely to purchase bulk print products. Instead, they’re more likely to need a handful of projects that are highly customized. In the past, mass customization on small print runs was not cost-effective for the printer or the customer. Thanks to changing technologies, however, small print runs are both possible and reasonable in terms of cost.

SpeedPro studios are well positioned to meet the demand for highly customized, smaller print needs. Our clients may request a single wall mural or vehicle wraps for an entire fleet. Our business model is set up to meet those needs and produce high-quality graphics on a smaller scale without charging exorbitant prices or reducing our owners’ profit margins.

Demand for sustainability

Sustainability is a growing point of focus across all industries. B2B customers are factoring green production into their decision to purchase. The printing industry has begun shifting to more sustainable printing materials, including eco-friendly inks like latex and water-based solutions.

The demand for sustainability has also extended into an expectation for more sustainable substrates. Instead of erecting PVC-based signage, customers are opting for greener materials, like PVC-free vinyl, textiles and paper products. This demand is driving growth in UV printing technologies. UV printers are capable of printing directly onto a wider range of substrates, giving large-format printers more flexibility in the sustainable products they offer.

SpeedPro stays on top of the industry’s cutting-edge products, including inks and printers. By introducing these technologies to our studio owners, we enable you to take advantage of the growth and demand for sustainable printing.

Surface printing options expand

Changes in print technology have expanded the role wide-format printing plays in the print franchise industry. High-efficiency printers paired with new types of inks have allowed for more diversity in printing substrates. Today, nearly every surface can be printed on, including textiles, glass and wood. This gives customers far greater choice when selecting the print medium for their project.

It also gives SpeedPro owners the opportunity to home in on and promote cost-effective substrates. As printing technology makes it easier to transform nearly any surface into a well-designed, printed message, in-house costs will continue to drop. SpeedPro studios can offer a greater product selection with lower overhead, less waste and higher profit margins.

Rather than fight changing tides, SpeedPro remains flexible, innovative and evolving as trends emerge and shift in the printing industry. This is how we’ve remained at the cutting edge of wide-format print franchising for decades—and how we will continue to do so. By joining the SpeedPro family, you’ll get access to our decades of experience and the industry insights that will shape our future.
