A Day In the Life of a SpeedPro Studio Owner

July 5, 2023

As an aspiring franchisee, you dream of running your own business. But depending on the type of franchise system you invest in, your day-to-day work life could be different than you expected. At SpeedPro, we aim to help prospective owners understand our business model and their role as the leader of a Studio.

So, what does a day in the life of a SpeedPro Studio owner really look like? There’s no simple answer. Every SpeedPro Studio operates a little differently due to our breadth of product offerings and the wide array of B2B customers a Studio might serve in its particular market. However, most SpeedPro owners follow a similar formula for how they approach work life as a franchisee. Take a closer look at what you might do on an average day!

Listen to one owner’s story!

Provide product direction

SpeedPro owners lead a creative team and helping bring clients’ visions to life every single day. Studio owners often have several large-format print projects running simultaneously.

To help manage the workload, you will hire a production manager who oversees the production process for all of your projects and deliveries. As an owner, you’ll touch base with this employee regularly to inform the direction of each project and ensure everything stays on track. To that end, you might hold routine meetings with them and the rest of your team to coordinate workflow.

Supervise operations

Your Studio will run with a team of two or more staff members you trust, but it’s your job to make sure everything is operating smoothly. Your role as an owner will include doing quality control and inspections of products and equipment.

Many owners get hands-on in the Studio with their team, too. You might not be running the print production for every project, but you’ll still be involved with the process and ensure your Studio’s quality is consistent.

Handle client sales and meetings

For a while after you launch your Studio, you’ll be the face of your SpeedPro location. This means you’ll primarily be responsible for marketing to and attracting customer leads as well as meeting with potential clients to uncover their needs. You’ll likely spend a good chunk of your day visiting customer locations or hosting sales calls.

Over time, you might delegate marketing activities to a marketing coordinator. While this means less hands-on work for you, it will be your job to determine the business’s marketing goals, target customers and key performance metrics.

Oversee business development

As the head of your Studio, you’ll be the one in charge of your business’s finances to make sure your books are balanced and your business is on the right financial path. Operations will largely fall in your wheelhouse too, ensuring your vision for yourself, your team, and your business are on the strategic path you desire.

It will also be your job to explore the future direction of your business. You’ll plan which customer segments you’ll like to branch out to, which product lines you might offer next and more.

Maintain a balanced lifestyle

The majority of your work will be done on site at your SpeedPro Studio, collaborating with your team, hosting clients or working in your office. However, you also get to enjoy a healthy work-life balance thanks to SpeedPro’s built-in flexibility. Our Studios operate on banker’s hours, meaning 8-5, Monday through Friday. You’ll have nights and weekends off to spend time with family or enjoy your hobbies and passions!

You also have the flexibility to pop in and out throughout the day. Our owners do light travel throughout town to visit clients, drop off proposals and deliver finished projects. Since you come and go, you’ll have time for important appointments, school drop-offs and other “life stuff” that might take a back seat in a traditional office job.

SpeedPro offers a blend of excitement, challenge and support

What’s important to realize about owning a SpeedPro franchise is that no two days are ever the same. Our Studio owners are flexible, adaptive and creative—and they enjoy a faster-paced, dynamic work environment. When you invest in our business, you invest in a break from monotony and boredom!

Of course, you’ll also have support along the way. From our hands-on training when you first join the business to ongoing education to asking/answering questions with other Studio owners, you’ll never be alone on your journey.

Diverse Products & Repeat Business Drive Revenue Growth

April 17, 2023

The strongest businesses are those that are set up for long-term growth. It’s not enough to secure a customer for a single purchase. Repeat business is what truly drives ongoing revenue and scalability.

Repeat business is a core part of SpeedPro’s model. Our large-format printing Studios offer a vast array of products to target customers who are likely to return. Together, these two things set the stage for recurring revenue and help our Studios achieve tremendous growth.

SpeedPro thrives on repeat business

There are a number of important reasons why SpeedPro customers return again and again. The first is core to our culture: We’re a long-term, solutions-oriented partner that provides top-notch service. Our ability to meet customers’ needs leaves a lasting impression, making it more likely they’ll return to a SpeedPro Studio for their next large-format printing project.

However, repeat business is also baked directly into the SpeedPro business model thanks to our wide range of client verticals. Many of the customer segments we target lend themselves to ongoing business due to the nature of their operations. Take, for example, marketing and advertising agencies or event planners, who serve a steady stream of clients. By forging partnerships with these agencies, SpeedPro owners become their go-to vendor any time their clients need a large-format product such as a trade show booth, exterior and interior signage, wall murals and more.

Other client segments may have new projects or events on an ongoing business. Industries like construction, real estate, sports and recreation and even retail or food service often have recurring large-format printing needs. SpeedPro is their partner for each new banner, window graphic or event poster they require.

Even slower-moving organizations like small businesses or educational institutions can be repeat customers. These clients often leverage fresh marketing or fundraising campaigns that use large-format print products.

All of these opportunities allow SpeedPro franchisees to maximize their return on investment for each client and generate recurring revenue streams that facilitate long-term growth.

Our diverse product line encourages ongoing orders

SpeedPro’s product line also creates ample opportunities for repeat business. We don’t just offer one really good product. The sheer variety of signage our Studios can create gives customers a ton of options to choose from!

Consider this scenario. You’ve networked with a local business, and they’ve turned to you to produce outdoor signage for their new office location. During your initial meeting, the client indicates they want to transform their office interiors, as well. You tell them about the range of murals, wall graphics, architectural finishes, elevator wraps and digital signage you can offer. The outdoor signage project is a big success, and the client is very happy. A few months later, they return to your Studio with a larger budget to complete the interiors project you helped conceptualize. The following year, your established client receives a proactive marketing message from SpeedPro, keeping your Studio and various product offerings top-of-mind with them, and the client reaches out to work with you again. Your diverse product line and solutions-oriented approach have solidified a repeat customer and brought more money into the business!

Teaching new clients about the range of large-format printing products SpeedPro offers opens the door to future projects. After demonstrating tremendous value as a business partner in the printing space, SpeedPro owners can maximize each relationship and deliver an entire suite of products to long-term customers.

Maximize your sales with SpeedPro

The SpeedPro printing franchise model is designed to foster creativity and open new doors through a diverse product line that’s highly customizable to many industries. By building partnerships with their customers, SpeedPro Studio owners help forge connections that create repeat business opportunities.

Are you interested in owning a business that benefits from recurring revenue and nearly unlimited scalability? Consider joining the thriving large-format printing industry and opening your very own SpeedPro Studio! Contact us today to learn more about this franchise opportunity.

Wide-Format Printing and the Real Estate Industry

March 14, 2023

Spring is known for being the hottest season in real estate. During this time of year, buyers and sellers are hyper-focused on the market, and construction begins on new properties. In order to capitalize on this busy season, real estate professionals need partners in the large-format printing industry like SpeedPro.

There are tons of print and graphic opportunities to be found in the real estate industry. SpeedPro Studios often find themselves handling orders that support realtors, construction teams and property managers. As you grow your SpeedPro business, real estate could be a lucrative sector!

Enjoy diverse revenue streams

Real estate and its related industries are extremely valuable to businesses like SpeedPro because they offer a wide range of revenue streams. There are many different types of real estate professionals, each with their own unique needs and sales cycles. This means SpeedPro Studios can diversify their income through different product and customer types.

Consider some of the most common large-format printing applications across real estate sectors.

  • Home realtors: Real estate agents and realtors rely on large-format printing to attract buyers to their for-sale properties. Print marketing is still extremely valuable in the homebuying market, but signage needs to be large and high-quality in order to get noticed. Realtors often turn to SpeedPro for yard signs, open house signs, directional signage, banners and flags. They may even need large-format graphics to advertise their real estate agencies, including window graphics, office signage and trade show displays.
  • Architects: Architects and engineers are critical in the real estate development process. These companies, too, need wide-format printing to conduct their businesses. Blueprints often need to be printed on a large scale to ensure accuracy and clarity of the property’s details. If a property needs to go through a public hearing process, architects will often commission large-scale construction renderings and plans to present. These large-format products need to be durable and printed with precision.
  • Construction companies: Once a real estate property is underway, the company in charge of construction will need large-format signage. Construction crews often purchase banners and custom barricade signs to inform the public about what they’re building behind the gates. Large signage may also be needed to convey safety information. Additionally, construction crews are more likely to rely on vehicle wraps to quickly identify and advertise their fleet vehicles.
  • Developers and property managers: Developers and property managers will also require large-format graphics to both advertise and decorate their real estate properties. Banners, window graphics and other exterior signage help them announce upcoming properties and leasing opportunities in the neighborhood. For offices or multifamily apartments, owners and managers might need directional signage, elevator wraps, indoor and outdoor signage and floor graphicsto enhance the resident or tenant experience.

There are so many options when it comes to large-format signage and graphics for real estate. Whether it’s a one-person real estate agency or a national construction company, SpeedPro helps these clients communicate effectively through Great. Big. Graphics.

Real estate is ongoing

The other main benefit of producing real estate signage is the industry isn’t going anywhere. Even though the housing and leasing markets fluctuate, there are always people looking to buy and sell homes, lease offices and design and construct new buildings.

Even better, the cycles for these industry sectors are typically staggered. Even if the housing market is slow, engineers and construction crews might be breaking ground on a new office complex that will deliver in a few years. Because of the range of organizations in real estate, there are ample opportunities out there.

Serve your real estate market with SpeedPro

If you’re an eager entrepreneur who’s interested in launching a business with diverse customer verticals and high profit margins, consider investing in SpeedPro. Our large-format printing franchise serves the real estate industry and beyond with signage, window graphics, vehicle wraps and much more. SpeedPro: The Marketing Industry’s Go-To Partner

February 16, 2023

Few customers rely on large-format printing quite like marketing, advertising and event agencies do. Large-print graphics are heavy hitters in ad campaigns and event promotion plans. But in order to source these products for their clients, agencies need a strong relationship with a reliable wide-format printer like SpeedPro.

One of SpeedPro’s largest client verticals includes marketing and advertising agencies. The business partnerships our Studio owners form with these customers are extremely powerful and generate benefits for both parties. Take a closer look at why event planners, ad agencies and marketing and design firms make SpeedPro a go-to partner.

SpeedPro is collaborative—not competitive

Marketing and advertising agencies typically provide a suite of services to their clients, such as graphic design, marketing plan creation, ad execution, and event coordination. In many cases, large-format print products are necessary to support those services. Take, for instance, an event planner who needs banners to promote a charity gala, or an ad agency that needs window graphics to display a fashion retailer’s newest line.

Typically, these agencies do not have their own wide-format printing equipment to create these graphics. In order to offer those products to their clients, they need a vendor to print the graphics for them. Enter SpeedPro!

SpeedPro’s niche is in large-format graphic creation, printing, and installation. We are not a competitor to these agencies. Instead, we’re a collaborator. By serving as a wholesale vender of banners, window graphics, vehicle wraps and more, SpeedPro helps to expand what our agency partners are able to offer. The two businesses work together to create and execute the end client’s advertising strategy.

Marketing, advertising and event agencies love SpeedPro because our Studios have in-depth experience in large-format printing, specifically. We specialize in the biggest, boldest graphics on the market. This has allowed us to provide the highest-quality and most innovative large-format products possible like murals, signage, vehicle wraps, banners, floor graphics, and more. And, our installation expertise allows for seamless service from start to finish. These things combined make for very happy end users.

Agency clients expand your network

Working with agencies has ample benefits for SpeedPro Studios, too. The biggest advantage of working with an agency is the ability to access pools of clients that have already been established. Finding and acquiring new customers takes time and money. SpeedPro owners can minimize these costs when they build relationships with marketing and ad agencies. You can potentially unlock a large customer base just by developing a single relationship. And, agencies have lots of opportunity for repeat business that can help a Studio grow.

Agency work also helps to diversify a SpeedPro Studio’s revenue streams. Event planners and marketing agencies often work with a broad spectrum of clients, just like SpeedPro does. This prevents owners from focusing their products into one business area. You’ll generate experience working on products for a range of industries. This experience and portfolio examples might be useful in attracting more customers in that industry later on.

There are financial benefits of working with agencies, too. Should one industry become flat due to economic or other challenges, an agency relationship will keep orders coming in from other client segments. The ability of SpeedPro Studios to provide Great. Big. Graphics. for every industry means we maintain relevance and are recession-resistant. SpeedPro partnerships create a win-win.

SpeedPro’s large-format printing business enjoys a symbiotic relationship with event planners, marketing firms and advertising agencies across the nation. We’re proud to create a win-win scenario for our agency partners and Studios alike. Owners who are dedicated to building these kinds of agency relationships might find the revenue possibilities are endless!

Are you interested in opening your own printing Studio and serving businesses in your area? Learn more about SpeedPro’s large-format printing opportunity today and begin your journey toward franchise ownership.

A World Full of Large-Format Graphics

February 1, 2023

Most people have never heard the term “large-format printing” before. If you were to ask someone on the street, they probably wouldn’t be able to give you the definition. However, everyone has encountered large-format printing in their day-to-day life. You may not have realized, but your environment is full of large-format graphics!

It’s this prevalence of large-format printing that makes franchise businesses like SpeedPro so appealing. Once entrepreneurs understand what the concept means, they realize just how vast the market really is. Investing in a SpeedPro wide-format printing Studio means tapping into an entire world of sales potential.

Large graphics are all around you

When you really think about it, you’ll realize that large-format graphics are everywhere. You can’t drive down the street, visit your favorite coffee shop, or go into work without seeing some kind of large, printed design. Whether they’re on vinyl, glass, wood, or wallpaper, large-format graphics have been carefully designed and installed almost everywhere you go. You’re exposed to hundreds—maybe thousands—of large-format graphics every single week.

By definition, large- or wide-format printing involves products printed at a large scale, usually between 64 and 120 inches. These products cannot be produced on standard printers and require specialized equipment and expertise to create and install. Emerging technologies have made it possible to print large-format graphics on a wide range of substrates, from traditional paper and vinyl to glass, textiles, and wood.

There’s a lot of competition for messaging in our world today, and this has driven marketers to go bigger to attract more attention. Instead of being handed brochures or flyers all day, you’re faced with super-sized murals, window graphics, billboards, and signs at every turn.

Consider an everyday example, like a standard workday. You leave your house to drive to work, and on the highway, you pass multiple billboards with advertisements. You also drive past a van that’s wrapped with a plumbing company’s logo and contact information. As you pull up to your office complex, you see large wayfinding signage directing visitors to the appropriate building. The building you work in has a large sign with your company’s name out front. Once you get inside the building, you pass a wall mural with an inspirational quote from your CEO. The elevators are wrapped to display your company’s logo and colors. In just half an hour, you’ve been exposed to a surprising number of large-format printed products!

You might see even more wide-format graphics on a trip to your local shopping center. Colorful banners are hung outside stores to advertise seasonal promotions or a grand opening. As you head up to the second floor of the mall, the escalator bay is wrapped with an advertisement. The next shop you visit has a full-sized window graphic in its storefront showcasing its latest product line. Floor decals help direct you through the store to find the items you need. Large-print graphics really are all around you.

The possibilities are endless

Because we’re faced with so many large-format graphics every day, it’s easy to forget we’re exposed to them at all. However, every ad or sign we see is another touchpoint for a company or a new message that we process. Once you start to pay attention, you come to understand just how big of a role wide-format printing plays in your life every single day.

There are nearly limitless possibilities for large-format graphic applications. Whether they’re used by a school district, marketing agency, sports team, or fundraising group, these printed products can send endless messages in so many ways.

This is the reason the large-format printing industry is so appealing to aspiring franchisees. The client pool is vast, because almost every industry has a use for large-format printing. As a SpeedPro Studio owner, you could help the organizations in your community design and share their own messages. There is tremendous revenue potential awaiting you!

Large-format printing is everywhere—and that’s not going to change anytime soon. There’s so much potential in the wide-format printing industry, and SpeedPro makes it easy to get started with a large-format printing franchise of your very own. Jump on the opportunity to join a thriving industry and build your own network of customers putting large graphics out into the world. Reach out to a SpeedPro franchise representative to get started.

Do I Need Print Experience for SpeedPro?

August 26, 2022

SpeedPro is known for delivering top-quality large-format print products to organizations across a wide range of verticals. Our place in the printing industry sometimes turns aspiring franchisees off, because people mistakenly believe they lack the experience needed for the job. Fortunately, SpeedPro Studio owners don’t need to enter the business with any printing experience! Our model is set up so that each new owner can apply their unique experience to the business, while we provide the printing know-how.

Take a closer look at how SpeedPro owners succeed, even without having a background large-format print production.

Types of experience that benefit SpeedPro owners

Contrary to popular belief, printing experience is not necessary to open a SpeedPro Studio. Although industry experience may help you adapt to the business faster, it won’t make or break your ability to join the SpeedPro family nor grow a thriving business.

Instead of printing experience, the SpeedPro franchise team is looking for entrepreneurs with a diverse set of skills and prior experience. While not necessary for consideration, here are a few of the qualities and types of experience that can help you in your franchising journey.

  • Business management/operations: SpeedPro is a business first and foremost, so our owners need to be able to effectively launch and operate their companies. A business mindset is very important in franchisees, even if you haven’t operated a business on your own before. However, it can be particularly helpful to come into the world of franchising with some experience in business operations or management. This experience will help you make those critical decisions, lead a team of employees, and drive your business through challenges and toward growth.
  • Sales: Experience in sales can provide a huge advantage to SpeedPro franchisees. As the owner of your Studio, you’ll network and meet with local businesses to sell your print products. Outbound sales efforts are a huge portion of the business, so you need to be able to build relationships with other organizations and encourage them to purchase. If you have experience leveraging sales strategies in other industries, you may be more likely to succeed.
  • Creativity: SpeedPro’s business model requires creativity on multiple fronts. Owners must come up with creative solutions to customers’ needs. Creative problem-solving experience from a sales or project management role can help you identify needs and match them to the right product line quickly and efficiently. Hands-on creativity is also a boon in our business, since our Studios are constantly designing and producing aesthetically pleasing products. A creative eye can certainly help you and your team.

How SpeedPro sets you up for success

No print experience? No problem! SpeedPro makes our large-format printing franchise opportunity more accessible by setting new franchise owners up for success from the start. Our onboarding process includes comprehensive training sessions that will teach you everything you need to know. From details on our product lines to how to use our printers to the best sales and marketing strategies, you’ll be sent back to your Studio with a wealth of information you can apply on day one.

Further, new SpeedPro franchisees are provided a startup package as part of your initial investment. What this means is you don’t need to worry about researching the latest printer technology or cost-effective inks. We’ve done all the hard work for you and have ensured every Studio operates with the latest and greatest tools and resources in the industry.

Whether you have experience in the printing industry or not, SpeedPro makes it easy to learn and apply your skills to our growing large-format printing franchise. Request more information and discuss your skills and experience with a franchise consultant to see if SpeedPro is the right opportunity for you!

More than Products, SpeedPro Delivers Great Service

July 12, 2022

Having great products is a pillar of any successful business. Customers want to leave a company knowing they’ve been given a high-quality, long-lasting item that meets their needs. However, what’s equally as important as products is a business’s customer service. This is especially true in a relationship-based business like SpeedPro.

SpeedPro franchisees don’t worry about the quality of their products or service because the SpeedPro name is synonymous with customer satisfaction. We know this because our brand has achieved an unbelievably high Net Promoter Score® of 95! This high score goes a long way when it comes to our current and potential clients. Read on to learn more about why that matters.

What is a Net Promoter Score?

Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a quantified representation of customer experience. Using surveys from customers, NPS gathers information about their level of trust in and respect for your brand. Businesses around the world use this score to benchmark their customer satisfaction levels and compare it to other companies in their industry.

NPS is reached by asking one simple question on a 0–10 scale: “How likely is it that you would recommend this brand/product to a friend or colleague?” The responses are grouped into three segments.

  • Promoters: Those who answered 9–10 are your promoters, or customers who are loyal to your brand and will help it grow.
  • Passives: People who answered 7–8 are passives. Typically, they are satisfied with your service but might be swayed by competitors because they aren’t very loyal to your brand.
  • Detractors: Customers who answer 0–6 are usually unhappy customers who didn’t have a great experience—or who had a very bad one. They may dissuade others from working with your brand in the future and can hamper your growth.

With survey responses in hand, you can calculate your score by subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters. The resulting score will range between -100 and 100. Bain & Co, the source of the NPS system, suggests that above 50 is excellent, and above 80 is world class. SpeedPro is world class level!

Why Net Promoter Score Matters

Every brand wants to have a positive impression on customers. Positive customer experiences help build a base of loyal, repeat business and keep clients satisfied. A high score – like SpeedPro’s 95 – indicates to a company that their customers are already happy with the level of service they’ve been given.

NPS is not only useful for determining how satisfied customers have been with their experiences. It is also a critical tool for estimating the future growth of a company. When a brand has a high NPS, that means it has a lot of loyal customers and very few unsatisfied ones. Loyal customers are more likely to return, but they’re also more likely to increase brand awareness through word of mouth. This type of marketing is free for companies and results in more potential clients!

SpeedPro Combines Great Products with Great Service

SpeedPro’s NPS was gathered by surveying customers of studios across the country. Our excellent NPS score of 95 is significant within the large-format printing industry and across other industries. It even beats out scores from popular brands like Nordstrom’s. Our NPS illustrates how much SpeedPro customers value our studios’ professionalism and reliability.

They know that when they come to SpeedPro, they’ll receive:

  • A partnership-focused approach, where our studio staff works collaboratively and respectfully with each client;
  • Solution-oriented meetings centered around what products would work best for their unique needs;

SpeedPro’s Place in the Pop-Up Market

April 20, 2022

The pop-up retail trend has been gaining ground for years, and the pandemic only made it more popular among brands. A form of experiential marketing, pop-up retail is a fantastic way for brands to experiment with their businesses and attract more consumer attention.

As the pop-up shop trend grows even larger in the years to come, brands will need a trusted partner to produce the large-format print products used in their temporary locations. SpeedPro can be that partner. Check out why pop-up retail is exploding and how SpeedPro franchise owners are positioned to benefit.

Understanding the Growing Pop-Up Trend

Pop-up retail, also known as “flash retailing,” is a way for brands to set up short-term, low-budget experiences. These shops are often set up in vacant retail storefronts, empty venues in shopping malls, and even mobile trailers, warehouses, and outdoor spaces.

Pop-up shops are particularly popular among online stores, giving them an opportunity to sell to customers in person. Pop-up shops aren’t only for things like clothes, however. Brands are creating pop-up experiences for their hair or nail salons, jewelry shops, bars, eateries, training centers, and much more. The key is taking a business to a new location and setting up a temporary shop.

More and more businesses are turning to the pop-up trend because of its ability to provide great customer insights and generate buzz. Pop-ups are useful for creating excitement about a new launch, showcasing exclusivity, testing new products, and exploring new markets. This is all done in a low-cost and low-risk way.

COVID-19 made pop-ups even more common. As businesses closed mid-pandemic, they left the retail sector’s vacancy rates at an all-time high. In many cases landlords are now willing to be more flexible with their leases, giving brands the ability to rent space for a few months or as little as a few days. Additionally, digital fatigue has led to the rise of in-person shopping once again. Consumers are eager to get out and experience new things.

According to a recent study by Shopify, 32% of brands said they’d be establishing or expanding their use of pop-up and in-person experiences in the next year. This just shows the existing market for pop-up retail and how much it’s growing in the near future.

How SpeedPro Serves the Pop-Up Market

Pop-up retail is ultimately focused on delivering immersive brand experiences on a short-term basis. Brands rely heavily on foot traffic to bring curious customers through the door, then use branded materials to keep them inside. This means brands need eye-catching signage to advertise and create their pop-ups—but they also need it to be easy to install and takedown.

What this boils down to is that pop-up shops need large-format graphics that SpeedPro can provide! Our product line perfectly serves the needs of brands interested in launching their next pop-up. By working with local businesses that are taking their stores on the road, SpeedPro owners can create a package of print products that turn vacant storefronts into inviting spaces.

Advertising is critical to help pop-ups build brand awareness. Window and floor graphics are great ways to customize the space, direct customers, and advertise from the outside. Outdoor banners and flags are useful advertising materials to draw in passersby.

To maximize easy installation, pop-ups might also utilize a range of large-format materials. Retractable banners and stands, three-dimensional signs, point-of-purchase displays, kiosk design and signage, and even cardboard furniture are all great options for these brands. These types of graphics are durable and portable, allowing businesses to take them from one pop-up to the next.

SpeedPro’s hyperlocal approach also gives owners an edge in the pop-up market. When new brands come to town and are in need of large-format printing, being an established name in the market could bring you that new business.
