Are you ready to ditch the corporate grind and create something of your own? If you’re seeking greater autonomy and the opportunity to build a thriving business, franchising with SpeedPro can be an attractive path. But every franchise is built differently—and that means your day-to-day responsibilities would be, too. At SpeedPro, we promote transparency and want prospective franchisees to get a realistic understanding of what it truly means to lead a SpeedPro Studio.
Each one of our Studios has a unique character that reflects the individual owner, their clients and the local community. This means that a “typical” day in the life is anything but typical for most franchisees. However, a shared commitment to creative excellence and high-quality graphics unites them all—and these are made possible through a few overarching responsibilities.
Networking and client sales
SpeedPro is a large-format print franchise opportunity, but when it comes to our franchise owners, your primary business is people. The majority of the day-to-day work our Studio owners do centers around networking, building relationships and meeting with clients to solidify sales of products like vehicle and fleet wraps, exterior signage, wall murals, trade show booths and much more.
As the franchisee, you’ll be the face of the business and point of contact for customers in need of large-format graphics. While you run marketing campaigns, it will be your job to identify and follow up with leads, build trust in prospective clients and find solutions that meet their print needs. You can expect to spend a large portion of your days on sales calls or in meetings with clients around town, working to bring revenue into the business.
Overseeing print production
Large-format printing is what your SpeedPro business is known for, but that doesn’t mean owners spend all day operating equipment. Although you may lend a hand on projects on occasion, your primary role will be to oversee the production process on a larger scale.
Of course, this will require some help. Most Studios require one or two employees to start, including a production manager who will handle most hands-on production oversight. Every day, you’ll work with your production team to direct your ongoing projects’ visions and ensure your Studio stays on schedule for deliveries. Most owners handle final quality control and delivery of completed projects to ensure client satisfaction, as well.
Big-picture operation and growth
At the end of the day, your SpeedPro Studio is yours, and you are responsible for its success. This means that the big-picture initiatives that support your stability and growth deserve daily attention.
Marketing and community engagement will play a regular role in your routine—whether it’s launching social media strategies or coordinating local sponsorships. Over time, you might hire a marketing coordinator to support these initiatives while you focus on other things.
Hiring and managing employees is also a crucial component of the job. It’s important to check in with your team through a daily or weekly meeting and provide opportunities for your employees to expand their skills and experience needed to help grow the business.
Financials, goal-setting and other administrative tasks also fall to the Studio owner’s plate. You’ll be responsible for entering invoices, tracking revenue metrics, running financial analyses and setting benchmarks for future growth.
Flexible Days Make for an Exciting Career
Given the number of different activities SpeedPro franchisees are responsible for, it’s clear that no two days will be the same at your Studio. You won’t be stuck behind a desk or on your feet operating equipment for eight hours a day. Between the people, production and growth elements of the business, you’ll have the opportunity to keep your work life fresh every day!
This flexibility is what makes SpeedPro such a great business for creative self-starters. If you want to put your business operation skills to use in an enterprise of your own, contact SpeedPro to learn more about our franchise opportunity today.
